Writing group for young writers who want to hone their craft. Meets every Thursday in term time at 4.00pm – 5.00pm (under 13s) and 5.00pm – 6.00pm (13-18s). Just bring along your imagination and some writing material and meet other young people who love to write.
La Mama is currently one of Melbourne’s oldest and most relevant theatres. It was founded in 1967 by the visionary Betty Burstall after she visited and was inspired by New York’s performing arts scene. Built in 1883, La Mama’s tiny stage and intimate spaces break down many of the traditional barriers created between audience and performer, and continues to nurture the new, vital and unconventional whilst maintaining a strong focus on staging local works.

Lansdowne Publishing concentrates on publishing for the international market. Specialisation: quality, illustrated non-fiction books such as cookery, gardening, gift books, health and lifestyle, home and design, New Age, history, mythology and general interest. Our new Australian list will focus on Australian interest titles in all areas and will concentrate on black and white books.

Legal deposit was reinstated in Western Australia under the Legal Deposit Act 2012. The Act covers print, audio-visual and digital material, including works published on the Internet. The Legal Deposit Regulations 2013 prescribe how the Act’s provisions operate. Regulations for the deposit of physical items came into effect on 1 January 2014. Further consultation to develop regulations for digital legal deposit will be undertaken in 2014.
Named in honour of an avid Henry Lawson follower and the Society’s former patron. Award is for a recorded reading of an Australian poem by a poet of entrant’s choice. Submit a tape or CD of the performance poem. Up to 10 finalists are chosen and must perform at annual Literary Dinner (Saturday of June long weekend) in Gulgong to be eligible for award. Live Poets is a performing venue for writers, musicians and storytellers. Meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month from February to November. We feature special guests in poetry and unplugged music.
