The University of New South Wales’flagship magazine, UNSW Magazine, is published quarterly. It reports on issues affecting the tertiary education sector and the latest developments in UNSW’s research and teaching.
Varuna, the National Writers House is a creative retreat and writers’ network for Australian stories and ideas. VISION meets the first Sunday of each month at the State Library of Queensland (except December and January) from 11am, everyone is welcome.

The National Library of Australia welcomes publishers producing works on physical media such as CD-ROMs to add their publications to the Library’s national collection of Australian heritage material. It is vitally important that these works are preserved for the benefit of future generations of Australians.
Open to Australian journalists or writers whose work was published in the year from 1 September in the preceding year to 31 August. Entries can encompass subject matter including true crime and biographies through to political analysis, business writing, war reporting, investigative journalism and foreign correspondence.

Whitley Awards are presented for outstanding publications (print or electronic) containing a significant amount of information on the Australasian region fauna. More than one medal may be given each year. The prize may be withheld if submissions are of insufficient standard. Certificates of commendation (to author and to publisher) are given within a series of categories.
The Wild Goose Literary e-Journal is a subscriber journal focusing on new Australian writing. They publish essays, short fiction, poetry and memoir from emergent writers. Founded in 2014 The Wild Goose Literary e-Journal is entirely digital with a specially themed issue each December. Themes are announced on the website in June.
The Wingham Chronicle has been published since 1880 and is regarded as the town’s bible. If something happens in the town or surrounding district – it’s in the Chronicle. The paper identifies strongly with its community and gets behind annual town promotions such as Beef Week and retail sale days.
No prescribed qualifications required. Award is based on merit and past achievements or demonstrated ability for future achievement in any walk of life. Benefit to Australia is a significant factor. Fellowships are awarded for periods of four to eight weeks duration. Overseas travel only.
