The Peter Porter Poetry Prize is one of Australia’s most prestigious prizes for a new poem. The Prize – open to all poets writing in English – is named after the great Australian poet Peter Porter (1929–2010).
The Calibre Essay Prize is one of the world’s leading prizes for a new essay and it is now worth a total of $7,500. The Calibre Essay Prize, then known as the Calibre Prize for an Outstanding Essay, was first presented in 2007 as part of a joint initiative between ABR and Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund.
Original non-fiction essay (in English) between 3,000 and 7,000 words. Only open to Australian citizens or residents. All non-fiction styles are eligible. Non-defamatory and not infringing privacy of others. Multiple entries acceptable, but entries must not be under consideration for any other award. See website for terms and entry forms.
