The Anne Edgeworth Writer’s Fellowship is provided to an emerging writer in the Canberra Region. The Fellowship is worth up to $5,000 and is to be used to advance the recipients’ development in the craft of writing.
The Australian Society of Authors (ASA) Emerging Writers’ Mentorship Program provides winners with the opportunity to develop their early draft manuscript to a publishable standard with professional mentors. Applications are assessed on literary and artistic merit and developmental potential.
Each year, the Australian Society of Authors awards a two-week residential fellowship to a writer under the age of 35 who is as yet unpublished.
The black&write! Writing Fellowships are offered annually to two Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander writers. The fellowships include a prize of $10,000, editorial development and publication opportunities.
The KSP Writers’ Centre is proud to support the development of literary work by hosting a number of annual residencies and fellowships. Offers placements in the categories of Established; Upcoming; Emerging; Scholarship; Established; and Fellowships.
The NSW Writers’ Centre Varuna Fellowship is open to writers in any genre who have a manuscript that is ready for the next stage of development. The winning writer receives a one-week residential fellowship at Varuna, the Writers’ House. Entrants must be members of the NSW Writers’ Centre.
The World Nomads Travel Writing Scholarship gives three aspiring writers the opportunity to attend a travel writing workshop with a professional and widely-published travel writer (a different tutor each year). After completing the workshop, they will then put their writing skills to the test on a 10-day all-expenses-paid trip where they will document their adventures. This is a global opportunity. 2019 dates are to be confirmed.
