Wordweavers is a support group for aspiring and published writers. The group does not function as a teaching group. Meetings are held fortnightly and visitors are welcome. For all enquiries please phone Waverley Community Learning Centre.

Asia and Pacific Writers Network is an alliance of individuals and organisations that work with language and writing in all their forms. The Network is an initiative of Melbourne PEN and supported by International PEN dedicated to the presentation and promotion of the region’s writings. The multilingual website publishes editions of writing from guest editors; news and announcements from across the region; and a directory listing writing resources.
The Asialink Writing Residency Program is a unique opportunity for Australian writers to live and work for an extended period in Asia. Grants of up to $12,000 cover travel, living and project expenses, and give recipients the opportunity for international cultural exchange, in-depth research and sustained time on creative work.

Crime Writers’ Association of Australia was formed to promote and publicise Australian crime fiction and to organise the annual Ned Kelly Awards for excellence in crime writing.
Geelong Writers is a community-based organisation that aims to encourage writing in all its genres. We conduct a weekly social meeting, a monthly reading and a wide variety of writing workshops. GW publishes a fortnightly e-bulletin, a members’ anthology, and literary journal, Azuria.

Sisters in Crime (SINC) Australia grew out of a shared interest in women’s crime writing. Members are writers, publishers, students, academics and booksellers but most are enthusiastic readers and viewers of women’s crime on the page and screen. Discounts are offered at regular events as well as a 10% discount at selected bookshops. Its website features news, reviews, details of events and competitions and member-only sections for event reports and blogs.
Smink Works Books publishes fiction, animated children’s books, writer resources and other non-fiction in digital e-book and print. Smink Works is an internet-based publisher, taking on writers from all over the world (no author fee required) and using the internet as the primary marketing and sales channel.

A group of poets (most of whom are Christians) who meet on the second Saturday of every month (sans January) to critique and encourage each other. Also gives public readings. Poetica Christi Press, the publishing arm, has published 16 books, two tapes, two sets of greeting cards, bookmarks and a CD. Our aim is to publish Australian poetry with a Christian ethos to challenge, minister and encourage.
