The Guild aims to promote storytelling in communities by bringing together people from all sections of the community to share experiences and stories. It also encourages people to tell stories and develop their own skills in the art. The Guild has regular performance opportunities, with home tellings and concert performances. Playmarket is New Zealand’s only playwrights’ agency and script advisory service. Focuses on the development of New Zealand playwrights and their plays. Performance rights for the vast majority of New Zealand scripts can be obtained through Playmarket.

Playlab seeks to challenge perspectives of Australian Culture through Australian Theatre. Uniquely, Playlab does this through developing, publishing and producing new Australian Theatre with playwrights at the centre of the creative process.

The objectives of the association are to promote the practice and methods of oral history, educate in the use of oral history methods, encourage discussion of all problems in oral history, foster the preservation of oral history records in Australia, and share information about oral history projects. A professional non-profit association for writers in the fields of film, television, radio, theatre, video and multi-media. Its main activities include skills development and advising Guild members and other industry creatives on rates, contracts, and employment. It also offers credit arbitration, a registration service, and industry know-how.

The National Library of Australia is the country’s largest reference library. It ensures that documentary resources of national significance relating to Australia and the Australian people, as well as significant non-Australian resources, are collected, preserved and made accessible. The core activity of the Melbourne Writers’ Theatre is script development, which is furthered by means of panel discussions, readings and workshopping of plays by professional directors and actors. Under the Copyright Act 1968 and various State Acts, a copy of any work published in Australia must be deposited with the National Library of Australia and the appropriate state library. The Kingaroy Writers Association was established in August 1994. Workshops consist of a theme set by the President which can be written as a short story, poem or play. All subjects related to writing are discussed, along with helpful critique of members’ work.

The Katharine Susannah Prichard (KSP) Writers’ Centre was established in 1985 to promote and nurture West Australian writing and writers, and continue the memory of Katharine Susannah Prichard.
