The objectives of the association are to promote the practice and methods of oral history, educate in the use of oral history methods, encourage discussion of all problems in oral history, foster the preservation of oral history records in Australia, and share information about oral history projects. Peter Cowan Writers Centre Inc (PCWC) conducts workshops, writing groups, and competitions such as the annual Peter Cowan 600 Short Story Competition which closes in April each year. The Centre also produces monthly newsletters for members with competition and publication opportunities. Playmarket is New Zealand’s only playwrights’ agency and script advisory service. Focuses on the development of New Zealand playwrights and their plays. Performance rights for the vast majority of New Zealand scripts can be obtained through Playmarket.

The Guild aims to promote storytelling in communities by bringing together people from all sections of the community to share experiences and stories. It also encourages people to tell stories and develop their own skills in the art. The Guild has regular performance opportunities, with home tellings and concert performances. Workshops are also offered.

A group of like-minded adults who love to write in story or poetic form. The group members enjoy sharing their written work and ideas and seeking out opportunities to develop their craft. These opportunities can include: writing competitions, guest speakers, and participating in writing workshops.

Meets on the first and third Saturday of the Month at 1pm, Warwick Library Meeting rooms.

We are an informal, open-ended group; we enjoy writing and sharing ideas about the process. All decisions pertaining to the group are made collaboratively. SWG’s aim is to be supportive and encouraging as we foster writing skills. Participation in the set monthly writing task is voluntary, although full participation is encouraged. Membership ranges from experienced, published writers to those just beginning their journey

Meetings
Meetings are held in Samford Village on the first Thursday of every month (except January) and we gather socially in July and December. Meetings start at 9:30am and last approximately three hours. If time permits following the sharing of feedback on the stories submitted, some aspects of writing is discussed. Occasionally guest speakers are invited to address the group, or small workshops held
