The Katharine Susannah Prichard (KSP) Writers’ Centre was established in 1985 to promote and nurture West Australian writing and writers, and continue the memory of Katharine Susannah Prichard. The Australian Historical Association, founded in 1973, is a national organisation of historians, academics, professionals and others, working in all fields of history. Its members number around 600, including universities, libraries and other affiliates.

Illustrators Australia (IA) is an association of illustrators formed in 1989 for the purpose of promoting illustration and the interests of artists Australia-wide. IA maintains a comprehensive online database of illustrators and members, and produces artists source books, workshops/seminars, newsletters and exhibitions.

A professional non-profit association for writers in the fields of film, television, radio, theatre, video and multi-media. Its main activities include skills development and advising Guild members and other industry creatives on rates, contracts, and employment. It also offers credit arbitration, a registration service, and industry know-how.

Playmarket is New Zealand’s only playwrights’ agency and script advisory service. Focuses on the development of New Zealand playwrights and their plays. Performance rights for the vast majority of New Zealand scripts can be obtained through Playmarket.

Our goal is to establish a children’s literature centre in Queensland where young people can interact with authors, illustrators and storytellers. We aim to engender a love of literature in Queensland children and young people through our projects and events. We run a support group for emerging writers and illustrators called Write Links, offer an annual mentorship and hold writing competitions for adutls and children.

Operated by Thorpe-Bowker, the ISBN Agency provides International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs) to publishers and distributes guidelines for their use. ISBNs are essential for books, whatever format they are published in. The Agency can also provide barcodes.

For lovers of good science fiction and/or fantasy. No writing experience required. Also runs a closed list service to which members send new work for peer critiquing, and discuss ideas and publishing opportunities. Meets on the second Sunday of each month 10.00am – 12.00pm.

Legal deposit is a statutory provision that obliges publishers to deposit copies of their publications in libraries in the country in which they are published. Under the Copyright Act 1968 and various State Acts, a copy of any work published in Australia must be deposited with the National Library of Australia and the appropriate state library. Legal deposit extends not only to commercial publishers but also to private individuals, clubs, churches, societies and organisations.

The Australian Writers’ Guild (AWG) is the professional association for all performance writers, writers for television, screen, theatre, radio and multimedia. The Booranga Writers Centre (Wagga Wagga Writers Writers, WWWW) assists and promotes local authors and their work. Express Media is a non-profit arts and media organisation that presents media, writing and arts programs for young people. Express Media’s program includes spoken word events, publishing projects, workshops, seminars, exhibitions and other arts and media related activities. Contributions are accepted from artists under 25 years old, including prose, poetry, artwork, comics and cartoons.
