Marion Writers offers critiques, encouragement and inspiration to all members. Each member emails up to 1500 words to all other members a week prior to each meeting, and at the meeting honest constructive criticism, written and oral, is exchanged to promote the development and enjoyment of creative writing, concepts and techniques. Melbourne Poets Union (MPU) was born at Trades Hall in 1977 to promote poetry within the community. It focuses on providing a supportive and encouraging environment for members to read publicly and be inspired through excellent features at monthly meetings. MPU provides opportunities for development and education through its workshop program and newsletter (POAM), and hosts a major annual national poetry competition.

The New Zealand Electronic Poetry Centre (NZEPC) sets up an electronic gateway to poetry resources in Aotearoa/New Zealand and the Pacific region. Aims to coordinate existing archival information, and present some full-text electronic publication of poetry and commentary in consultation with authors and their publishers. NZEPC also promotes live poetry events and is committed to extending and documenting locations for poetry in the digital environment and its real-world counterpart.

Papercuts is Australia’s only national poetry program for schools. Aimed at Years 9-10 students of all abilities, it fosters the skills to read and write poetry.
