The Marjorie Barnard Award is for a short story of no more than 3,000 words. Entrants are to be permanent residents of Australia and the work should be original, unpublished, not have won any previous competition at the time of entry, typed and double spaced on one side of A4 paper. Fresh Ink is ATYP’s development program for emerging playwrights. Across the year, through a range of masterclasses, workshops, one-to-one mentoring opportunites and our annual National Studio, we work with young writers to develop their work and appreciation of the craft of writing for the stage.
